Drones are an exciting new technology that can perform lots of different tasks; from shooting breath taking aerial video and photographs, creating 3D maps and models, helping control and prevent fires and leading search and rescue operations drones are becoming a bigger and bigger part of our world.
In this workshop you can learn how to safely take off, pilot and land a drone, capture aerial footage and photographs and program a drone to follow instructions using coding skills and tablets. If you bring an appropriate storage device with you the footage that you capture can also be made available to you to take home so that you can start editing your first aerial film.
The drones that we will be using will be smaller drones designed to be safe for young people to use for learning. There will also be a chance to control the camera on a larger, professional drone with a qualified pilot operating the drone.’ A child must be accompanied with an adult.
